Our Latest Wedding in Sussex

We have been slightly out of touch on here haven’t we? So what have been been up to… We shot a wedding on Saturday in Sussex for Tessa and Mark, a fabulously fun couple who tied their life long knot in St Peter & St Pauls (I guess whoever named it couldn’t decide who was better?) church in Hellingly. Bridal preparations took place in the grand grounds of Peaks Manor. The girls in the uniquely built Oast House (a beautifully old house with 2 round towers that were used for drying out hops in the late 19th century I’ll have you know!) And the boys got ready in the The Wing (originally a cow shed!)

So much history on site, it was quite wonderful to walk around and soak it all up! The couple held their reception in a Teepee Tent (by Tentipi) which was sneakily deceiving on the exterior because inside it’s hobbit like front doors revealed a spacious, warm and fun tent with a hint of Moroccan inspiration in one corner, little leather stools, miniature tables and lanterns just like that of the lush outdoor seating areas in London Borough market!

The main attraction for all the guests had to be the huge open fire in the tent which really was used for it’s sole purpose, heat! Set in a large wooden box, it made for a perfect place to converse about this wonderful day and all it’s trimmings. And Tess’a dress was something to talk about! You’ll see when we upload the photos, absolutely stunning! She really was a beautiful bride!

We loved the speeches, they made us laugh so much we had to remember we were the photographers! But my favourite thing about this whole wedding, which is typical of me, was that it was a dog friendly event, so 4 dogs were running around inside the tent, stopping at whoever would give them attention and love, it really added that extra special touch. Everyone seemed very happy with them making their way around each table hoping someone, anyone, might drop a juicy piece of meat in the direction of their watering mouths.

10 out of 10 Tessa and Mark. We hope you are both enjoying your honeymoon! Whilst your’e soaking up the sun, we will be working on your photos, something to look forward to when you get back 🙂
