Meeting Clients in York

Today, Laimonas and I took a train ride over to the magical city of York! There we met up with the soon to be newly weds Naomi and Steve. It turned out to be a wonderful day out with what felt like old time friends. We are both very excited and privileged to be hopefully covering this wedding.

Naomi is from York and Steve moved in with her into a flat which we were excited to be informed may be haunted! (Personally, I am fascinated by ghosts and ghouls! Mainly because I believe in them so much that I get such a rush out of such things!)

Our day began with a wonderful train ride through the east coast of England, a journey you just cannot fall asleep on. The sights are truly amazing, huge hills, water falls, galloping horses, it was far better than our usual train ventures back and fourth from London to Lancashire.

We met up with them and they took us to a beautiful tearoom away from all the tourist hustle and bustle of the city centre. It was a quaint little gem hidden away behind the walls of the madness that York entails. This was also a spot that the couple wanted to use for some shots on the day, and we could see why with it’s unusual trees and ancient Tudor buildings with beautiful gardens. Here, we had some tea, coffee and cakes, learning that Naomi loves all things lemon! We shared some hilarious stories and anecdotes, drawing slight attention to ourselves in this exquisitely English tearoom, but we laughed so much we forgot where we were for a moment!

Shortly after, the couple took us to the Church where they will tie the knot. A beautiful catholic church called St. Georges, we met the priest, also a lovely friendly and slightly quirky character. They then showed us where the reception will be held, which just so happened to be right outside the Minster, (for those who may not know what this is, it rather looks like a cathedral or a very big church as the Americans call it). If I can recall, this building dates back to the 1400’s. It’s completely enchanting, and I felt like I’d gone back in time wandering around the rooms with exposed timber and hidden, secretive doors that took you to a whole new place, it will make for picture perfect event.

As the day was coming to an end, we stumbled into a unique little coffee shop called coffee culture where we showed them our albums and they showed us the style they were after. Their wedding is definitely our kind of wedding, earthy, rustic, and out of the ordinary. We threw ideas around and I gave them some things to think about (I am constantly rustling up new ideas and find little props that really draw attention to detail on the day). Like Laimonas, Steve is very into his biking, an idea I wanted to explore and throw into the day.

After a perfect meeting with a perfect couple, we parted ways and Laimonas and I ended up in a crazy, hidden gem of a pub called the house of Trembling Madness (recommended by them) and I think it’s fair to say it was the best pub with the best food we’ve ever had. Going to York? Visit this place; you won’t regret it.

We look forward to their wedding this September, and we hope you will come back and see the finished product for yourselves!!

Peace and Love,

Julietta
