It’s been 4 years of Julietta & Laimonas

As most of you probably know, we are a couple! On the 16th of August is our anniversary, it’s been 4 years! On the morning of Thursday the 15th I woke up to ‘Pack your bags, we’re going away for a few days’. Super excited, I packed up and let him whisk me away.

Here’s the card I made for him (and although this post may seem a lot of him giving and me receiving, I would just like to point out that I took him to a basketball match 2 days previous AND I have pre ordered him GTA5 special edition, just to get some girlfriend points here!)

We ended up in a place just near Maidstone, as we drove up a narrow path way surrounded by acres of beautiful landscape, Leeds Castle slowly revealed its ancient beauty, I was completely blown away (by the way, I am a huge geek and love all things ancient, castles being one of my favourite things ever!) Turns out Laimonas had booked us into a pretty little cottage which was a converted stable courtyard set in the most vibrantly colourful gardens along side The Great Water. Everywhere we looked there were all kinds of butterflies, flowers, duck, black swans, peacocks just strolling around. My favourite were the gorgeous ducklings that approached everyone in hope for food!

We enjoyed the grounds, the castle itself was so incredible and F.Y.I can be used for weddings! Then we ventured out and explored the surrounding towns and villages, most of which were medieval. The next morning, we had breakfast in this huge hall with exposed timber and views of the castle reflected int he water. Just when I thought it couldn’t possibly get any better, a huge bunch of specially scented freesias were delivered to my room in a huge box and Laimonas had hand-made art work put into frames for us. Spoilt much?!

Since we both adore animals, we went to Howletts Safari Park on our anniversary and saw lots of beautiful wild dogs, cats, primates and some we’ve never seen before along with some we see all the time and hope to see for a lot longer (this park tries to save a lot of animals from going extinct due to poachers and deforestation).

After that, we somehow found ourselves in Dover! And walked along the White Cliffs!! It was awesome to see all the ferries and ships come in and out of the harbour. The vastness was scary!

Over the 3 days we had  such good food (we love our food!) including a very interesting meal in a 13th century pub called the Dirty Habit. We also stumbled into Canterbury (what a beautiful place! Very much like York) where we had our anniversary meal of Moroccan tapas, amazing! The next day we explored the ruins of Rochester Castle and discovered the gorgeous town of Rochester, decorated with bunting and home to such beautiful little  shops.

All in all, we had a brilliant few days and thought we would share it all with you. Romance is most certainly and unequivocally not dead here!
