Nick & Sophies Seaside Wedding in Polhawn Fort, Cornwall

Isn’t England a beautiful little island? This feature shows off a pretty little corner of our lovely country, Polhawn Fort in Cornwall. This fort is built into a cliff overlooking the blue seas. An awe inspiring scenery for Nick and Sophie to make those vows, exchange those rings and decide on forever.

Hidden on the coast of Torpoint lies Polhawn fort. Entry through a disguised door on the roof that we walked past a few times until we realised that was in fact the way into this magical venue. A spiral staircase lead us deeper into the fort with interiors of red brick arches and an almost medieval feel. Cosy enough to be mistaken for home, and with Parker (the springer spaniel) running around, it certainly did feel like we were had walked into someones lavish living room.

This is where both Sophie & Nick prepared for their wedding and would be re-entering as husband and wife later on for the reception. Styled with the beach in mind, sand, seashells, pebbles and glass bubbles brought the nautical outdoors into this warm and atmospheric space. Sophie dazzled everyone with her beautiful show stopper of a wedding dress and Vivienne Westwood shoes. This was Lovestruck’s first outdoor wedding. These two braved the english weather and tied the knot under our summer clouds, and by summer clouds I mean english summer clouds; gloomy bordering on rain! But someone was definitely watching over them as the weather held back long enough for the new bride and groom along with their maids and men to climb down the cliff and jump into the sea! Such a fun loving couple and fearless too!

Their stunning, rustic, layered, cream cheese frosted cake decorated in her flower of choice hydrangeas, was cut with the family heirloom sword. The reception was now lit up by the warm glow of fairy lights that draped the arches, with views of the waves crashing into the rocky beaches down below through tiny concave windows. As the night went on, ice cream was served on the roof, it’s never too cold for ice cream! And the band arrived, The Swing Empire, a stunning arrangement singing the best numbers from the 50’s. If you love Jazz, you will love this wedding band.

The July sun began to set when the couple took their first dance which lead to an excellent party in the fort. A wedding we shall never forget. Congratulations to Mr. Mrs. Termeer!

Jamie & Charlotte – Quirky Wedding in Symondsbury Manor, Dorset

This incredibly chilled out couple came all the way from down under to have their big day here in the UK! This wedding party were an amazing bunch of characters and we could feel how close everybody was which made the atmosphere so warm. Such a beautiful wedding and we are so pleased that they chose to have it on our turf and that they chose us to capture it.

Jamie & Charlotte – Quirky Wedding in Symondsbury Manor, Dorset – Reception

When we turned up to Sydmondsbury Manor in Dorset, our first thought was that we could have been anywhere else in Europe… It had a fantastic feel to it. Strange sculptures around the garden, and the building itself was so unique, intimate, perfect for this cosy wedding. Sit back and enjoy, Charlotte & Jamie…
