An urban wedding with a twist. Sarah and Lloyd chose to tie the knot in a corner of London close to their hearts.
The story began in The Trafalgar, where Lloyd and his family anticipated the moments before the wedding began. A few drinks to calm the nerves, exchanges of luck and love.
Their ceremony took place in the intimacy of the Rosetti Room within the Chelsea & Kensington Old Town Hall. The black and white checkered tile floor laid the grand walkway for our blushing bride, who chose to walk the short isle with her beautiful son Rafferty (whom, by the way loved being photographed, a brilliant character with eyes that melt your heart).
Straight after the ceremony, the couple wanted to walk through Chelsea Farmers Market. This was the very place their relationship began to blossom, when they began dating this is where they would rendezvous. Filled with wooden cabins for shops and bars and restaurants, colourful and luckily for us, quiet.
From there we took a casual stroll to their venue, Barts, a well kept secret, hidden inside the Luxurious Chelsea Cloisters. Even when we stumbled upon the heavy, painted black door, giving nothing away, none of us knew what we were going to find beyond this secret passageway. Through the first door, a very small hallway, where, with only two people you would feel cramped, was plastered in Mickey Mouse comic strips from floor to ceiling. Above the next door, in neon pink flashed Tattoos And Piercings, after knocking a fair few times, a small peep hole slid open to reveal a pair of eyes, like we needed to submit a password upon entering.
Finally inside Barts, a dark, nostalgic atmosphere with memorabilia almost everywhere you looked. Very cosy, very intimate, with less than 30 people at this wedding, the bar felt packed full. There was a little courtyard out back where we found what I could only describe as a 3 walled shed that was being used as a little nook with outdoor lamps and seating. This is where we set up photo booth.
Once that box of costumes and props was opened, all the guests found that crazy, care-free little child within them and transformed into dinosaurs, huntsman, witches, frogs and maids! The adults were more excited than the children themselves. It was a heap of fun being behind the camera as it was for them being in front of it.
Sarah, being a true American, kept with tradition of not just cutting the cake, but covering Lloyds face in it.
We loved every moment of this wedding and we hope you all enjoy the photos.
