Pick of the week!

Barbara Lewis – Baby I’m Yours

I love this song, I think the words are perfect for a first dance… Also check out the Arctic Monkeys version, it’s not too different from the original which is why I love both. That’s it for Pick of the Week for now! Check back next time for more wedding music.

Peace and Love

Meeting Clients in York

Today, Laimonas and I took a train ride over to the magical city of York! There we met up with the soon to be newly weds Naomi and Steve. It turned out to be a wonderful day out with what felt like old time friends. We are both very excited and privileged to be hopefully covering this wedding.

Naomi is from York and Steve moved in with her into a flat which we were excited to be informed may be haunted! (Personally, I am fascinated by ghosts and ghouls! Mainly because I believe in them so much that I get such a rush out of such things!)

Our day began with a wonderful train ride through the east coast of England, a journey you just cannot fall asleep on. The sights are truly amazing, huge hills, water falls, galloping horses, it was far better than our usual train ventures back and fourth from London to Lancashire.

We met up with them and they took us to a beautiful tearoom away from all the tourist hustle and bustle of the city centre. It was a quaint little gem hidden away behind the walls of the madness that York entails. This was also a spot that the couple wanted to use for some shots on the day, and we could see why with it’s unusual trees and ancient Tudor buildings with beautiful gardens. Here, we had some tea, coffee and cakes, learning that Naomi loves all things lemon! We shared some hilarious stories and anecdotes, drawing slight attention to ourselves in this exquisitely English tearoom, but we laughed so much we forgot where we were for a moment!

Digital Album Layouts – Michael and Helen

Digital Album Layouts

One of my favourite weddings was of Michael and Helen a few years ago, set in Marton House wedding venue in the middle of beautiful countryside of Cumbria. They absolutely loved the album, so I thought I would share the digital album layouts so people can get a better idea of the process! You can see pictures of other wedding albums here.

Italian Storybook Albums

Michael and Helen went for a traditional Ivory Die-Cut Leather Cover, 25×35 size with a contemporary edge of storybook album layout. We love using these albums as it allows us more creative control over the layouts, which are completely customizable to clients style / requirements. Depending on the number of pictures selected, we can have more smaller images, or less, but spread out over two pages. It’s completely your choice!

Picture of the Week

Wedding Photography Preston Hoghton Tower

Picture taken in Hoghton Tower, Preston back in 2009. The wedding was set in a beautiful 16th Century Manor House, which was often visited by King James I, William Shakespeare, J.M.W. Turner and Charles Dickens.

Wedding Reception Inspiration / Ideas

I am constantly browsing vintage / shabby chic online shops, this is my favourite style. Cox & cox is by far one of the best online shops for this type of theme. Another great online shop I found is dotcomgiftsshop They have some really sweet things for those who are interested in having a shabby chic / vintage wedding look at their wedding, but there are also some simple but classy accessories on there too. Here are some of my favourites for a wedding reception:
